The Program
During your free one hour consultation, we will discuss your goals, eating and exercise preferences, previous dieting experiences, and any relevant medical information. You will learn the science behind your metabolism, and we will debunk popular weight loss myths. One such myth is that you must eat less in order to lose weight. (In reality, eating less leaves you weighing more; astounding, yet true!)
Our second meeting is two and a half hours in length. During this time, we will construct a food plan that provides numerous options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and dessert. We’ll address cravings, both emotional and physical, as well as those “once you start, you just can’t stop” foods. You’ll learn how to create your own menus at home, as well as how to measure your progress. We will devise an appealing exercise plan, taking your lifestyle into account, and if your goals include increased energy and/or better overall health, we’ll incorporate those ideals as well. Any emotional blocks currently halting your progress will also be addressed. Examples of such blocks include eating to fill a void, to relax or to divert boredom. Finally, we’ll discuss potential scenarios that may arise so that you leave with confidence, knowing you can remain flexible when life is unpredictable.
Hour long follow-up sessions are available, and may be scheduled as needed. Follow-ups provide an opportunity for modification, feedback and support, and also help with the transition from weight loss to weight stabilization. Since accountability is a great tool for success, I highly recommend these sessions. However, they are optional, and may be scheduled according to the needs of each individual.
